This pass is recommended for foreigners who are visiting Japan. It is the perfect pass for traveling around the Takayama-Hokuriku area (including the Shirakawa-gō and Gokayama World Heritage sites ).

ELIGIBILITY TO PURCHASE

1. Foreign tourists who are visiting Japan from overseas for the purposes of tourism on a “Short-Term Stay” visa (holders of foreign passports). “Short-Term Stay” means a stay of 90 days or less for the purposes of tourism, visiting friends or family, during which time no paid activities shall be carried out.
Main types of “Short-Term Stay” visa issued in mainland China: “Single-entry visas for Individual Tourists”; “Multiple-entry visas for individual tourists visiting Tohoku Region (Iwate, Fukushima, Miyagi)”; and “Multiple-entry visas for individuals with a substantially high level of income”
*「Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass」 is not sold to Japanese nationals.

Exchange

  • Please exchange your exchange voucher for a Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass within three months of the date you purchase the exchange voucher. (For example, if you bought the exchange voucher on April 15, it can be exchanged up until July 14.)
  • When you exchange your voucher, please decide upon the date on which you wish to begin using the pass. You can start using the pass on any date within one month of the date on which you exchange your voucher.
  • It is not possible to change the starting date once this has been listed on the pass.
  • Please exchange your exchange voucher for a 「Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass」 within three months of the date you purchase the exchange voucher. (For example, if you bought the exchange voucher on April 15, it can be exchanged up until July 14.)

Validity

  • Seat reservations can only be made once a pass has been collected in Japan.

Refund

  • Refunds on exchange vouchers:
  • Refunds may be paid on exchange vouchers within one year of the date of issue, but only by the issuing vendor. The refund amount is the sales
    price minus the prescribed administration fee and postages fees.

  • Refunds on passes:
  • If a pass remains valid, a refund on the pass can be picked up at the prescribed pass exchange locations, provided that it is still prior to the starting date of the pass.
    The refund amount will be the sales price in Hong Kong dollers, minus 10% plus HKD 100 per ticket.
    Please be aware that no refunds whatsoever will be made once the valid period of the pass has commenced.

  • No reissuing:
  • Exchange vouchers or passes will not be reissued under any circumstances, including loss, theft or damage, so please look after them carefully.

Ise-Kumano Area Tourist Pass

The Ise – Kumano – Wakayama Area Tourist Pass is a special discounted pass available only to foreign travellers visiting Japan under the entry status of “Temporary visitor”. Visitors can use this pass to travel from Nagoya to as far as Kushimoto. It is valid on five consecutive calendar days of your choice. This pass can be used on the JR Limited Express trains to and from Nagoya, within Osaka city, Nara and on designated bus routes and railways convenient for visiting Ise/Toba area. On top of that, rental bicycles “Ekirin Kun” services can also be use at Wakayama station, Kiitanabe and Shirahama station.

EXCHANGE

  • You must exchange for a pass at designated Exchange Office (in Japan) within three months from the date of issuance and within the pass’s period of use in order to receive your Ise – Kumano – Wakayama – Area Tourist Pass.
  • To exchange the voucher for the Pass you will need your passport.
  • The start date of the Pass can no longer be changed once the pass has been exchanged.

    • JR Central: Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shin-Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, Shin-Osaka

VALIDITY

    • Period of use of the Ise – Kumano – Wakayama – Area Tourist Pass: From 15 July 2016
    • The Ise – Kumano – Wakayama – Area Tourist Pass is valid on following JR conventional lines of JR’s limited express/rapid/local trains:

(1) Between Nagoya station – Shingu – within Osaka (via Ise Tetsudo Line or Kameyama, via Kisei Main Line/Hanwa Line)
(2) Between Nagoya – Kameyama – Nara – within Osaka City (via Kansai line)
(3) Between Taki-Toba (Sangu Line) and Kansai International Airport-Hineno (Kansai Airport line)

    • Unlimited use of following buses:

(1) Designated sections of Mie Kotsu Group’s route buses: Owase Station front-Washige, Owase Station front-Segiyama-Kumano Kodo Center, Senmaida and Tori-toge pass entrance
(2) Designated sections of Kumano Kotsu’s route buses: Katsuura station – Nachisan, Katsuura station-Shingu station of the Wakayama Electric Railway’s Kishigawa Line.

    • Rental bicycles “Ekirin Kun” services can be used at Wakayama station, Kiitanabe station and Shirahama station.

* Limited to those aged 12 and above. Can be used everyday while the pass is valid. Number of bicycles is limited and may not be available.

SEAT BOOKING

  • Only non-reserved seats can be used on the limited express “Haruka” between KIX and Shin-Osaka station
  • With the Pass, reserved seats on ordinary cars can be used up to 4 times.
  • To access the platforms, show your Pass to the station staff located at the gate to the platform.
  • The reserved seating cannot be guaranteed and is subject to availability.
  • It is a personal Pass. Please always carry your passport when using the Pass as station and train staff may check it.

Mt. Fuji – Shizuoka Area Tourist Pass is a special discounted pass available only to foreign travellers visiting Japan under the entry status of “Temporary visitor”. Visitors can use this pass to travel from Atami to as far as Toyohashi. It is valid on three consecutive calendar days of your choice. This pass can be used on the JR conventional trains, bus and ferries to visit places around Mt. Fuji, including Gotemba Premium Outlets, Fujikyu Highland, etc.

ELIGIBILITY TO PURCHASE

Foreign tourists who are visiting Japan from overseas for the purposes of tourism on a “Short-Term Stay” visa (holders of foreign passports). “Short-Term Stay” means a stay of 90 days or less for the purposes of tourism, visiting friends or family, during which time no paid activities shall be carried out.

  • Limited express/rapid trains without non-reserved seats, for instance “Asagiri” cannot be boarded.
  • To access the platforms, show your Pass to the station staff located at the gate to the platform.
  • The reserved seating cannot be guaranteed and is subject to availability.

The JR Alpine Takayama Matsumoto Area Tourist Pass is a special discounted pass available only to foreign travellers visiting Japan under the entry status of “Temporary visitor”. Visitors can use this pass to travel from Nagoya to as far as Toyama. It is valid on five consecutive calendar days of your choice within a three-month period from the date of issuance. This pass can be used on the JR Limited Express trains to and from Nagoya and on all transportation services within the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (Between Toyama and Shinano Omachi).
* Sales Period : From Wed. 01 Feb. 2017 to Wed. 08 Nov. 2017
** This pass is not available to purchase in Japan.

EXCHANGE

  • Exchange period: Wednesday, March 15, 2017 – Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
    Please exchange for a pass within three months of its issuance (including the date of issuance) and within the pass’ period of use.
  • The voucher can only be exchanged after arriving in Japan at designated JR Exchange Offices or at some branch offices of JR Tokai Tours, Inc.
  • With regard to the exchange, note that:
    (1) the MCO must be exchanged by the person whose name is on it;
    (2) you must bring the MCO and your passport;
    (3) you must fill in the exchange application form established by the exchange office; and
    (4) you can specify a date of your choice within one month of the pass’ date of issuance (including the date of issuance) to begin use.
  • The start date of the Pass can no longer be changed once the pass has been exchanged.

VALIDITY

  • Period of Use: Saturday, 15 April 2017 to Sunday 12 November 2017. Please start to use the pass by November 8, 2017.
    This pass covers the following transport services and routes:
  • Non-reserved seating on JR limited express, express, rapid, and local trains:
    • Between Nagoya station – Toyama station (via Tokaido/Takayama lines)
    • Between Shinano-Omachi station and Nagoya station (via Oito/Shinonoi/Chuo Main lines)
  • Unlimited use of transportation within the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.
    • Between Dentetsu-Toyama and Shinano-Omachi within Alpine Route
    • Non-reserved seating on Toyama Chiho Railway limited express trains between Dentetsu-Toyama station and Tateyama station included.
  • The pass cannot be used on home liners and other liners.
  • This pass does not allow you to travel on Tokaido Shinkansen, Hokuriku Shinkansen, and Toyama Chiho Railway between Terada station – Unazuki-Onsen station. Please be aware that to travel on Tokaido Shinkansen, Hokuriku Shinkansen, and Toyama Chiho Railway between Terada station – Unazuki-Onsen station, you will need to pay the required basic fare and any additional fees separately.

SEAT RESERVATIONS

  • Non-reserved Ordinary class cars can be accessed freely. Travelling on the Green car will require additional charges.
  • With the Pass, reserved seats on ordinary cars can be used up to 4 times on limited express and rapid train between Nagoya station and Toyama station (via Tokaido/Takayama lines) and between Shinano-Omachi station and Nagoya station (via Oito/Shinonoi/Chuo Main lines). Before boarding, you are required to receive a free reserved seating tickets at the ticket centers at the main stations of JR Central, JR West, JR East on the designated routes, or JR Tokai Tours’ offices.
  • A “Web Ticket Reservation” for the Tateyama Cable Car leaving Tateyama station is not available with this pass. (You can ride the Tateyama Cable Car without reservation.)
  • For transportation services between Tateyama and Kurobeko, a “boarding numbered ticket” is required. Please show your Pass at Tateyama station or Kurobeko station’s ticket gate window to collect it.
  • To access the platforms, show your Pass to the station staff located at the gate to the platform.
  • The reserved seating cannot be guaranteed and is subject to availability.
